I-18 - Identifying victims of sex trafficking: The role of the physician
Each year, 100,000 – 300,000 international and domestic minors in the United States are at risk of being trafficked for sex each year. Physicians can help reduce the risk of harm to victims by knowing what to look for and how to offer help. Join the AMA- Medical Student Section to be empowered with the knowledge needed to better identify, interview, and assist patients who are victims of sex trafficking. If you have any questions, please contact us at 800-621-8335. This session has been planned and implemented by the AMA’s Medical Student Section. Please contact Keith Voogd at keith.voogd@ama-assn.org if you have any questions.
