I-18 - The Forgotten Americans: An Introduction to US-Mexico Border Colonias
Border colonias are rural border communities that exist along the US-Mexico border. These communities lack basic health resources, like clean water and access to medical care and as such, poverty and disease are rampant. Physicians can help the people living in these areas by providing health care services and through advocating for change. Join the AMA Medical Student Section to learn about these communities and how you can make an impact and save lives. If you have any questions, please contact us at 800-621-8335. This session has been planned and implemented by the AMA’s Medical Student Section. Please contact Keith Voogd at keith.voogd@ama-assn.org if you have any questions.
