A-18 - Blockchain in health care: Hype or here to stay?
What is blockchain and how can it provide opportunities for health care? At its core, blockchain technology is a shared system of recording and securely storing transaction records. Given the perceived benefits and accessibility of this novel system, health care technologists and professionals are exploring how blockchain can be used for secure medical and provider record sharing, protecting sensitive health information from hackers and providing patients with more access and control over their health information. Join us to learn more about this emerging technology and how it will transform the way that you care for your patients. Should you have technical questions, please contact the AMA Unified Service Center at 800-621-8335. Should you have questions regarding the content, please contact Kathleen O'Shea at kathleen.oshea@ama-assn.org.
